Interview: Amykim

Hi penguin family! Today I have a special guest here, Amykim!

She is a big fan of Disney, kind, creative and works in the help site in Club Penguin Island. (The help page was updated so take a look here)

Azu: Hi Amy! Let's start. How has the closing of club penguin been for you?

Amy: Interesting! I am a big believer in Walt's saying "Keep Moving Forward" especially since technology is ever-evolving, but I also openly cried on live stream when we left our old Island. It's been great seeing so many penguin pals travel to the new Island, to continue waddling on, and helping us growing this new Island even more.

Azu: As a Disney fan you are, what category of the Disney Store (in CPI) do you like most?

Amy: EVERYTHING! Disney Store and content gets a fair bit of flack, but it's magic. I love the different patterns and decals so I can add flair to my own styles - like Hidden Mickeys almost!

Azu: Let's continue with the Disney store related. What Disney movie would you like to see in the Disney Store?

Amy: My top five would be: Wall-e, Coco, Mary Poppins, Treasure Planet, and Mulan. And more classic titles like Robin Hood and the Aristocats! And maybe some Ghibli (not Disney, but still)

Azu: Now, Tell about your job in the island, how has this work changed your life?

Amy: Many, many, many years ago I wrote on a post in note "WORK FOR DISNEY" in all capital letters and that was my goal - to join the magic. There is nothing quite like waking up everyday and being excited to go to work, being excited to see and connect with people, and I get to do that. There are so many great areas in the company and so many wonderful people - I can't wait to grow even more with the magic. (Yes, I am that cheesy. My soul is a mixture of Halloween, Pixie Dust, and Tea).

Azu: I'm glad you fulfilled a dream.See, if you try, you can achieve what you set out to do.

Next question! If Disney gave you the opportunity to choose a new feature to the game, what would it be?

Amy: Number One Box Dimension fan right here, but... that probably doesn't count anymore.(Now is in the game :D) And everyone wants Puffles, myself included. It's not really a feature, but I would love some more CPI pins!

Azu: Now let's talk about parties, as you know, we had a new party, the rainbow migration, what themed party would you like to see on the island?

Amy: The rainbow migration was amazing!!! I love the collection and team work that these events have, it just adds to the community and our Island's history. More exploration of the Island and maybe some magic would be awesome (GARDEN GNOMES). That said, I could live without more Frozen, we should probably let it go.

Azu: The last question! What do you like most about working with Disney?

Amy: PEOPLE: the cast members, the guests, the community - it's all connected and couldn't exist without people. - I love meeting cast members, hearing how their roles work and what they like, and how they are creating magic - everything is a learning opportunity. - Creating connections with guests and hearing their excitement is amazing. If I can connect with someone and create a memory then I feel like I've done something right. - And community, it doesn't need much explanation. It's another level that brings all kinds of people (or penguins) together and the world needs more of that. I can go anywhere and someone will have a memory or feedback or an opinion about something Disney which creates an interaction - there is never a dull moment.
